Wee Care - Curriculum

Our teachers will use a well balanced curriculum that is developmentally appropriate.  The curriculum areas may cover:

ART...LANGUAGE ARTS... MUSIC...MATH...WRITING...
READING ...SOCIAL STUDIES...MOVEMENT...SCIENCE...
COOKING... MANIPULATIVE PLAY...ROLE PLAY

The teachers will draw from several curriculums as well as using original ideas and materials.  All of the learning activities are based on the following beliefs:

Process is more important than product. With young children the experience of doing an activity is of more benefit than the quality of the product produced.

Children learn by doing. Allow children to do things that they can do for themselves (i.e., drawing, cutting experimenting, buttoning, etc.).

Each child’s creativity is encouraged. Children are invited to experiment and explore. The end result of an activity should demonstrate each child’s individuality.

Children learn about responsibility by cleaning up during and after activities.

Godly values are taught through prayer, songs, stories and daily activities.

Teachers will provide parents with a monthly calendar that will give an overview of what will be taught in the classroom each month, and there will be a monthly newsletter.  Parents should use these resources to be informed and to reinforce their child’s learning activities.
